Job Title: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Description: Looking for an experienced, dedicated groundskeeper and maintenance tech for a large apartment complex in Portage. This is a full-time, year-round position. 

Work duties include preparing apartments for rental and turn-over (prepping units for being painted, making repairs, etc). Must have knowledge of plumbing, drywall, patching, touch-up painting, and small appliance repair. Knowledge of swimming pool upkeep and air conditioning systems is helpful. During the winter, snow removal will be necessary from sidewalks and in front of buildings by 8:00 am (no driveway plowing required). On-call duties for emergencies (electrical, heating/air, water/flood, storm damage) will be expected, so a flexible schedule is necessary. Duties also include making keys and changing locks, ordering supplies and making sure inventory is stocked, keeping an eye on vacant units to make sure they are in good condition, walking around the grounds to ensure that all tenants are following community rules (no bikes on balconies, etc) and that everything looks presentable. During summer months, this position will include swimming pool maintenance (cleaning, checking the pump, adding chemicals, opening and closing, meeting with health department for regular inspections).
